She completed her schooling at Paul Revere Junior High School and then she graduated from Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. Christie did her first marriage to François Allaux in 1973, and they divorced in 1981.
Later, she got married to musician Billy Joel on March 25, 1985, and they welcomed their first child a daughter Alexa Ray Joel on December 29, 1985. But, they divorced in 1994. She did her third marriage to real estate entrepreneur Richard Taubman in December 1994, and they split in 1995. On September 21, 1996, she got married to an architect Peter Cook, and they have a son Jack Paris Brinkley Cook, and a daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook, a model. The couple separated in 2008.
