She is very famous for Kimberly Drummond’s role in the television sitcom Diff’rent Strokes from 1978 to 1986, and she had appeared in over 100 commercials as a child actor. She began her acting career with Girl’s role in the television series The Six Million Dollar Man in 1975, and she played Sandra Phalor’s role in her debut film Exorcist II The Heretic in 1977. Plato portrayed Cara Ames’s role in the television film High School U.S.A. in 1983, and she also starred as Jenny Warren in the movie California Suite in 1978.

Plato was born in Maywood, California, United States on November 7, 1964, and she committed suicide by multiple drug intoxication in Moore, Oklahoma, United States on May 8, 1999. She was the daughter of mother Linda Strain, but, she was adopted by Dean Plato and Florine Plato at the age of seven months. She has a sister Heidi Plato. Dana studied at Taft High School. She got married to Lanny Lambert on April 24, 1984, and they have a son Tyler Lambert, who died in 2010. Dana divorced Lanny Lambert in 1990.
